On May, 10th, 2007, a Thursday, we received a tv crew from TV CLARET (www.redeclaret.com.br), affiliated to TV CULTURA from the city of Rio Claro/SP, to shoot a program which will help to illustrate the beginning of a new project which is being carried out by Rio Claro Municipality, the “Eco Caipira Circuit” that will help to increase regional tourism. The reporter Paulo Lima and the cameraman Diego Bonatti said the choice for Santa Gertrudes Farm is the fact that it is nowadays an important reference to ecological tourism in the region. On the 5th of June we received the photographers Mauricio and Stella from Paulinia Film Comission to gather pictures and information on the farm in order to have it on the database of the Film Comission created by the Culture Bureau of Paulinia Municipality, the “Paulinia, Magic of the Cinema” Project, whose ambition is to make it available to producers of film, tv and video all the potencials of the city of paulinia and its region. On Thursday, the 24th of May, Santa Gertrudes farm opened its gates to receive a tv crew from EPTV – São Carlos/SP, affiliated to TV GLOBO, for the production of a documentary which will tell the story of our region since primitive times. This show is part of the celebration for the founding of the cities of Rio Claro/SP (180 years), Araraquara/SP ( 190 years) and São Carlos/SP (150 years). The farm had a great importance on the development and colonization of the region; its coffee production was intimately connected to the quantity of workers available since they had to come from Europe to the farm. This immigration helped to conquer new areas, allowing progress to come to the area.
