The swimming pool was a water reservoir for washing the coffee. Its water came from a spring called "Garlic Wood"(The popular name of a native tree) and flowed through an aqueduct to the swimming pool. There were 2.500 meters of stone aqueduct covered by bricks that brought the water to the fountain that we see here. The water was stored in this tank, which has always been called swimming pool because that's how the owners used it, privileged by the clear spring water. The watch-tower has the function to facilitate the supervision of the work at the arrival of the coffee. One also notices the two gates that shows the concern with security, considering the value of the coffee at that time, it had to be always protected, even inside the Farm.
